[amayausers] Re: standard hoops

Charlie,

Yes, we were told to use the yellow athletic tape because it left no 
residue (stuck to itself but nothing else). It does help to keep it from 
slipping both while stitching out and while trying to hoop (whether you 
want it to or not). Maybe I'm still not using the tape correctly because it 
usually shreds a little after each design.

I guess my problem is the all around design of the hoop. The screw is 
awkward and if it's slightly off it will strip the screw (one of mine was 
delivered that way and if I hadn't taken the screw out as soon as I noticed 
the resistance I'd be out a hoop). It's nearly impossible to tighten around 
the fabric once you've hooped, too. None of my other hoops fall apart from 
each other when I go to store them, either. For such a standard shape, I'd 
think the design could be more user friendly.
