The screws are in the back. You do not need to remove any needles. You
should have a L shaped bent screw in your kit which you use to remove the
screws.

Any special tips on removing the needle plate cover. At first glance I can
not tell where the attaching screws are located. Do you have to unthread
all needles to do this?

Always replace the black cover on the thread feed roller, before putting the
red pinch roller back on..it is much easier that way. I gives you more room
to manuver the cover that way.....
