I'll throw in my two cents worth. I run two separate computers too. I was
told from the beginning that the ideal way was a separate computer for
Amaya, but , that one computer could do everything, with some limitations.
I have a computer dedicated to machine operation . It is a stand alone, not
even networked or on the internet. My other computer is for digitizing and
office work. I have high speed cable on that one. That way, if I get a
virus, it doesn't affect the machine operation. The disadvantage is that I
have to load a design on a disk to transfer to the other computer, but I
feel it's a small price to pay for the security of the machine computer.
Plus, with this setup, I can make changes it a new design, as soon as I see
a problem, as it sews out.
