Hi Evelyn,
The Hoop Limits for most hoops were changed in the new version. This was
done to try and make sure that a hoop could not be hit. The older limits
still gave the chance that a hoop could be hit. There is less room near the
back of a hoop than there is near the front due to the presser foot
clearance. You also may notice on the larger rectangular hoops that the
dashed line which is the actual sew field goes over the edges of the hoop in
the corners when viewed on the screen. This is because the machine only
understands circles, rectangles and squares. The software can understand any
shape, but the machine brain cannot. So, the actual sew field for some of
the larger hoops can go over the edges. Melco feels it is best to show you
this on the screen with the hoop so you know. Now, with that said, if you
have designs that ran before without hitting or rubbing on a hoop but now
get a hoop limit when sewing, the Hoop Limit can be turned off in the
settings. Just make sure that if you do turn it off to trace the design and
make certain nothing is going rub or hit the hoop.
The Settings By Color feature had some issues in previous versions that did
not work correctly in every instance. The method with which Settings By
Color is held into the machine and the design was changed in the new
software. Because of this, some designs that you created or saved in
previous versions will now have the settings by color feature turned on
where they did not before. If you load a design that was saved from a
previous version, check to see if the settings by color is on, if it is,
turn it off and save the design. By re-saving it, you insure it will load
with the settings by color feature turned off the next time you use it.
Sincerely,
Jeff Banks

Subject: [amayausers] new version
I recently installed the new version of software for my Amaya. There are 2
things making me crazy. Is it just me?
1-The sewing field for the hoops is much smaller now. Many designs that used
to sew great on the 15mm are now to big and have to be re-sized.
2-At color change my machine automatically changes speed and material
thickness! On one particular design it slowed to 300 spm and a material
thickness of 25! Where is this coming from and how can I fix it!
HELP!!!!
