[amayausers] Re: needle question

Vicki,
make sure to look closely at the needle on one side above the eye
there is a cut out section (not very big at all ) called the scarf
it is on the opposite side of what usually looks like a narrow
groove running straight up the needle from the eye
the scarf goes in the back away from you. Loosen the screw
so the old needles slides out then slide the new needle into the opening
and push all the way up until it stops if it's not lining up with the points
of the other needles
something is in the hole and needs to be cleaned out.
if it does bottom out then turn the eye to the right just slightly so that
its not perfectly parallel with the thread catcher arm, remember the scarf
is on the opposite
side from where your standing. Tighten the needle screw and you should be
sewing.
If it worked before you changed needles it should work again.
unless your using some different needles that aren't the right size.
good Idea to take out a currently working needle and compare next to a
replacement
needle to be sure they're the same style and size (within reason)
Walk yourself through the Amaya tutorial if your still not sure.
they have one on changing out needles that covers everything.
There's probably one little thing that your missing. My guess is
your needles in backwards.
Good Luck
