I sewout on leather and vinyls all the time for auto interior guys I work with.
But I always have them bring me the material (cut oversized to what they need
to allow room for adjustment) before sewing it together. I use 75/11 BPPD
needles and generally try to stick with a fill stitch. I have done some with a
satin stitch. Depends on what the design is. Vinyl is usually very stretchy
and needs to be well stablized and will required a higher density number and
wider stitch length to reduce pull and pucker. Plus I always sew these items
at slower speeds around 600 to 700.
