A word of caution from a lesson learned on our sailboat. DO not use a petroleum
based lubricant (like WD-40 or 3-in-1) on anything nylon or possibly nylon, or
plastic, it can absorb it and cause it to swell. That's why we have two
different grease bottles for our machines, one for metal and one for
plastic/nylon/non-metal surfaces.
