[amayausers] flex fit hat

I am trying to sew a design on a flex fit hat for the first time. Everytime
the needle drops for the first stitch it breaks. I just finished 72 KC Caps
(unconstructed) and they sewed beautifully. I am using a 12 sharp needle.
The middle seam on this had looks really thick, what am I doing wrong? Any
suggestions?
