Sorry for the delay Yes they come off, they are torqued pretty good as is everything on an embroider machine because all the massive amounts of vibration. as for the Allen Head wrench, makes sure it is seated in very well and in good contact as it will strip out easier if you let it move out of the bolt. make sure you turn it so that the shortest end is in the bolt and you are using the longest end as the handle for turning. try to have something hard and flat in your hand when you turn it so that you can apply more pressure without the end of the wrench burying itself into your palm and hard constant pressure until you will hear a loud click that means you broke it free more than likely. then it should turn out quite easily. make sure you use as much pressure when putting it back or check it often to make sure it isn't loosening since that supports the front of the hat driver and if it comes loose you have a whole other set of problems coming. it's is easier than I make it sound another way is the next customer that looks like there strong enough ask them if they would help. Good luck. I was in a similar situation but those screws were so tight that I couldn't budge them, so I decided perhaps they were riveted on so I didn't push too far. I used masking tape instead and it did help the garment slide over that area. Those little allen wrenches are so small I thought I might break one off if I pushed too hard. I'd like to know from LuAnn if she ever got them off.. I have the jeans attached just fine, but when I trace the design the pocket is getting caught on the piece under the bobbin case that the cap driver attaches to. Is the embroidable area on a pocket that small? LuAnn @ Image Embroidery Because Your "Image" Matters
