Ruth,
Usually if it can be hooped, it can be sewn, except, if ,and, or, but the 
exception to the rule. I guess you could try it, I personally have never 
tried to hoop the front of a cap in a 12cm hoop....just the 
backs.......sounds difficult to me, guess I will have to check it out.

As far as the sewing order..center out.....bottom up....a cap, if  hooped 
this way with a 12cm hoop, is just another flat sewing object and this rule 
wouldn't  matter as much. The center out--bottom up rule 
can/may/might/possibly/could also apply to other garments as well...not just 
caps. ;-))
