[amayausers] Re: colors

We bought the 288 assortment-and it has come in handy for matching
colors for a large 'bass' embroidery-fisherman can be fussy.
Otherwise, I don't think we have used 15-20 different colors yet! We
have bought 'full' spools of any popular color-I think we are up to
25 or so...for our 'stock' colors. Black, white, yellow, couple of
blues, greens, reds, and golds. You will find that you end up using
only an average of 6-8 needles on any design, and same color threads
over and over. Most company logos are only 2-3 colors and it makes it
easy. It's the 'Dakota' designs for mostly 'retail' work we find we
use a lot of colors on-or 'groups' like Bass Tournament or Turkey
Hunters-they want 'full color' detail.
It is real handy to have the full assortment but not
critical...Kesavan has it right-show them 'stock' and then tell them
'other custom colors' cost extra. We do it in screenprinting and sign
making all the time!
