Have you called Melco Tech Support?
Can you tell, or have you noticed if it is missing stitches at the time of
the bobbin breaks? At the time of the bobbin break, I am going to assume
that the top thread is not broken too? If not, if you pull on the top
thread, is it tied in with the bobbin thread or can you pull some of the
thread out of the design?
Is this happening at the start or at any point in a satin or fill stitch
run? On all designs?
What type of bobbins are you running and have you tried other types of
bobbins? Correct bobbin tension? Have you played with loosening and
tightening bobbin tension?
Two possible things come immediately to mind, depending on some of the
answers to the above questions, hook timing and something called under
thread pressure. Under Thread pressure comes into play after a trim and
holds the bobbin thread under the moveable knife for the next hook/thread
tie-in.
Hook timing would play into missing stitches and possible bobbin break
indications.
Bobbin tension and/or faulty/draggy/loose bobbins can play into bobbin break
indications. Faulty or worn out bobbin casings can lead to problems.
This, as most problems, usually takes a process of elimination to arrive at
a solution and the above is where I would start. It is difficult to diagnose
these problems without having as much information as is possible, i.e.,
what's happenening, what is it doing, what are you using, speeds, beginning,
ending , inbetween, whats the machine sound like, hook timing, lubrication,
has the hook ever been flushed out with WD-40 and cleaned throughly, under
thread pressure, tension, rollers(plastic and rubber),sensors blown out and
cleaned out regularly, needles, presser foot adjustment and flagging of the
material, does it happen on all materials, all designs and the list goes on.
