There are TTF and then there TTF. And all TTF are not created equal! Some are
very good and some are very bad. Somme work at small sizes and some have to be
big to work. So, you just have to evaluate each TTF on its own merits. I
usually end up making them bold. Just my personal preference that I convince
my customers is better than not bold.

Make sure you have tie/insandout if you are going to trim between letters. I
usually set the underlay to edgewalk. For very small letters lighten up the
density. For very large letters, satin stitch is likely not to work - try a
reg fill.

I'm sure there is a whole bunch of other things, but this will get you started.
