If the numbers will fit within a regular round hoop, I just hoop them with the 
handles 90 degrees off, rotated, so the pocket still fits and slides over the 
bobbin shaft like a tube.  Then in the OS, rotate your design to match the 
correct orientation of the sweathsirt.  Easy enough.  Use the absolutely 
smallest hoop that will fit your design, so that the "back" of the pocket is 
not taut, but a little loose forming the tubular effect required as the machine 
moves around.
