[amayausers] Re: Unsolved thread breakage problem

Now that I've gotten very comfortable with the machine itself. I've found
that 99% of my thread breaks are caused by the ARC threads that do not
unspool properly while the machine is sewing. Watch for my entire setup of
ARC threads to be listed in eBay as soon as my Madeira thread set arrives.

I can sympathize with you on the tech. While I have always found the Melco
phone reps to very helpful and courteous (I usually get Curtis and he's
great), I think it is odd that the only time the phones are manned is during
weekday Mountain time work hours. Especially when you figure that most of
us have a day job and do the lion's share of our sewing on nights and
weekends--when there is no support available. If you have a hard down
problem, it usually takes 3 weeks to get a house call here on the central
East coast. This is merely an inconvience for me, since I have multiple
machines, but I would be distraught otherwise.

The Amaya is an outstanding product, in my opinion. As with all
technological innovations, the people brave enough to be the first ones to
use them have to themselves become technicians to some degree. This doesn't
mean that you are going to do all of the things that you would call tech
support for, but the more you increase your personal knowledge of the
machine, the easier everything will be.

Hopefully, the company will see fit to address the issue of more timely
customer support after the purchase.
