I'm new to this list and have only had my 2 Amayas since the end of August.
Previously I was running an EMC10T. I appreciate all the information that is on
these posts. My Amaya training was in early October. We were told that the
thread must come off the cone clockwise, if it comes off counter-clockwise there
will be problems with thread breaks. ARC had a batch of thread that was wound
wrong. If you have some of these you may want to call ARC and see if they will
replace them. We were also told that the small 1000 meter spools would give us
trouble and that Madeira spools won't fit on the Amaya.
As Tim said, the Amaya is a great machine. Besides having the guts to try
something new, we all have a lot invested in this. We are out here running
these under real world conditions. Most likely we will discover problems before
Melco does. If we can't find a solution to a problem as a group, is there a
procedure to notify Melco of a problem? Think about it, how long did it take
someone to figure out that thread coming off a spool counter-clockwise will
cause problems?
