[amayausers] Re: Twisted Rayon

Depending on the detail of the design if you are using 35wt thread you may want to go to a bigger needle as well such as a 80/12. I use 90/14 for mettalic thread.

I have not used the twisted thread on my AMAYA yet (have tried the R/A on the EMT's) but usually any specialty threads such as twisted, mettalic, or glow in the dark are going to be more brittle thread so you will have more thread breaks. Make sure to slow the machine down some and use the appropriate needles.

Hi Loree,

I've used the Robison-Anton twisted rayon. With the RA thread, the thread
is a 35 wt, not a 40 wt. This means that the thread is thicker and you may
need to lower the density of your design.

Has anyone tried using the twisted threads? I'm trying to do a single color

design in Coats & Clark twisted rayon thread, and I am getting constant
thread breaks. Are there any tricks to using this stuff successfully?
