[amayausers] Re: Turning off Amaya?

If lightening is going to strike your building, it doesn't really matter if
your machine is on or off. The JOLT of lightening will shoot through
anything that is connected with a wire or metal. Including clocks, coffee
makers, PC's, etc...

A surge of electricity would hopefully ONLY trip a "surge protector" and not
jump across it.

If you have issues in your area with more than average lightening storms and
the like, I would unplug my machine when not in use and choose not to run
the machine during storms.

I line conditioner is a good idea handle occasional fluctuations in the
electricity.

I do turn my machine off when I'm not using it for a couple reasons. You
never know when a power surge can come along and destroy your circuit boards
inside the machine. I do shut it down when I see lightning outside and wait
for the storm to pass. Another reason is to save on the electric bill.

I have a strange question.
Does everyone turn their Amayas "off" at the end of the day?
The reason I ask is, it is a pain to reach behind mine to turn them on and
off. So I am wondering if anyone leaves theirs "on" all the time?
Thanks,
