Hold down the CTRL key, grab the X handle for the letter and it will
move vertically.

I have a design shop question for anyone that can help
I have Design shop 2005 version 6.08.018
not pro just plain Jane middle version
I am trying to make a monogram
and I have found the button that allows that
but one of the initials is a "J" and it puts it below the 
base line on this particular font.
so visually they don't line up horizontally (Follow me so far?)
in select mode I can drag the little X left and right to change
the spacing to my liking but there seems to be no way to
adjust a letter up and down!?
What am I missing? or do I have to make each letter individually
or is there a "Break elements" type function that I don't have
or haven't found yet or don't recognize the name?
 
I just want to edit it as stitch block instead of as a font
and short of saving as .cnd file and moving them as a whole 
I haven't figured out how to do something that seems so simple.

I'm sure you'll soon get replies form the Techs on the list.
but I do know from experience that the thread feed rollers
roll freely on any unused needle, but on the active needle
it is not.

Greetings all!
 
    My partner and I have had our Amaya since January and we're loving
her (most of the time) and doing pretty well considering we're still not
fully trained.  We had one onsite day of training and will complete our
other training this summer @ the NJ facility.  We've been "lurking"
around the list and getting lots of great tips, insight,  and a few good
chuckles from your posts.  We just had some birdsnesting  both at the
needle plate and at the thread feeder roller on a  heavily used color.
We seem to have solved the problem for now.... 
 
but our question is this:  When the needle carriage is stopped at the
needle of the moment, is the thread feeder roller supposed to be
impossible to turn?  We noticed during our 4,000,000 st maintenance that
the one roller we couldn't budge was also the one the machine had
stopped at.  Hope I've explained this clearly...
