[amayausers] Suggestions needed for difficult fabric

Can anyone give me some suggestions for settings (and backing) when working 
with rip-stop nylon fabric? I'm finding this especially difficult as I'm 
embroidering designs on pennants that are smaller in height than my 12 cm hoop.
