I have not been following your posts but if you have not cranked your
machine up to run a design I would suggest you do so. Don't be too
tentative. Just use the defaults and sew something. Plain text is a good
place to start. Use the block alphabet and sew your name. Get past the fear
thing. All it can do is blow up and burn your house down.:) Seriously
though, be sure you schedule training as soon as you can. But, in the mean
time, try to get comfortable with the machine's basics. Check your needle
position, thread path and follow the step-by-step instructions. Hoop some
backing. Set the speed at 1100 and push the little green button. Like the
Nike slogan says, "Just do it".

Subject: [amayausers] Stuff

Well, I finally found the time and courage to take a look at the Amaya
Operating System. I've had the machine about 8 - 10 weeks now. It has
<2,700,000 Z rotatations on the count. Can someone tell me what this means
in terms of the machine's use?

The manual and the postings on this list have me quite intimidated. I have
been advised that there were two calls on this machine. One was a how to
question and one was to order a part. The first stages of oiling the
machine went o.k. I oiled the hook and the needle case tracks. I will work
on it as time permits the rest of this week. I have a lot of reading to do
before I'll even run a test. Told my husband I think I'll let my "mechanic"
oil the machine. Poor thing. He didn't understand. -- He's my mechanic.
:-) I'm one of those people who has a lazy brain -- Open head, pour it in.
I find this list most informative and helpful. Thanks everyone.
