I've seen the Toyota run at the ISS shows and it seems to do a fine job. It
just looks a little delicate as far as machinery goes. May not be an issue,
I own two of their cars - simply an opinion. Do keep in mind the
differences in the sewing technology. The Amaya incorporates "tensionless
sewing" whereas the other machines will offer conventional "tension sewing"
with all the tension knobs. Depending on who you ask, both will have pros
and cons. I do know that the wife runs a good amount of items without any
backing due to this "new technology". Be sure to do your homework. I
wouldn't invest in a machine I couldn't see run first hand. Also, what do
you know about the folks at Toyota? Will they be there for you after the
sale? Really?
In both companies, find out who specifically will be the one to train
you
on the machine/software and try to get to know this/these people before
hand. How they communicate with YOU could mean all the difference in the
world. (Obviously)
I'm not sure how much difference in money is in question here, but if it
helps, consider knocking off the $400 cart (I believe) that the Amaya sits
on. A good sturdy table 24" off the ground (no higher) would work fine.
You might not want the hat attachments in the beginning as well. Keep in
mind you'll pay more for them after the initial sale.
I will say this, if this is your first machine, it might behoove you to
have Melco there by your side as you "crawl". Once you're "up and running",
with more experience (both in embroidery and equipment), your decision
making on equipment will get easier since you won't require so much service
after the sale. More so just a good description of all of their buttons.
Best of luck to you;
Ed
PS. You live in Northern Cali and the Toyota dealer is in Texas???

Hi
I am not sure that my last email went out. I got it back with someone
elses email on it. Here is what Linda and I need help on. We are going to
buy a embroidery machine, probably the Amaya, we are going to the Amaya show
on Thurs in Medford Oregon. But we have also been talking to the Toyota
dealer in Texas about the purchase of a Toyota with the top of the line
datastitch software and all of the accessories, it is a little less money
than the Amaya. We would like to see a toyota work but we do not know of any
in our area, Northern Ca. We of course, will be going to Oregon on Thurs so
we thought that someone might know of someone in that area or our area of
Calif. We would also like to hear the Amaya users who would give some
reports on your feeling about the Amaya. Thanks for your help. Dennis &
Linda
