This may be a dumb question, but what is the difference between 40 and =
60
weight threads. I have problems with small lettering as well, but have
always used 40w thread.=20
        Aaron you also mentioned using a 60/9 needle. Every time I have
tried using a smaller needle than 75/11 I end up breaking the needle. =
The
size is a 70/10 that I have tried for smaller lettering and designs. I =
even
tried running the machine at a much lower speed. Is there a trick to =
using
smaller needles?=20
Thanks

Lisa,

My favorite font for small text is Oesco Block. I think it is a font =
you=20
can buy from Melco. I use this font all the time, probably more than =
any=20
other.

SOme things that will help with small lettering.
- Less Density - 4-5 works for me.
- Wider Column width. With small lettering sometimes you need to fatten =
the

columns lots (150-200%). You will find that it looks real fat and runs=20
together on your screen but once sewn it actually comes out good.
- I have hears some people will use a zig zig underlay at 8 density and =
then

the main stitch at 6 density and the 2 low densities that way have a =
good=20
look.
- Use 60 wt thread and 60/9 needles

You just have to run some things out on some sample material until you =
find=20
something you are happy with.
