[amayausers] Re: Shipping prices are a ripoff

I was checking prices for shipping I had done
for someone on this list earlier and the pricing for the same item shipped
to the same location had gone up almost 30% in the last 3 months.

These are the things that people don't realize with a war and hurricanes
and many other factors that we think don't affect us out of the area or not directly
related to the issues at hand, but do creep into our daily costs that directly
affect your bottom line.
I got the notice last week that my Natural gas rates will be increasing by 30% and shipping just as high both inbound and outbound. and increases
in Electricity. Thank goodness for some of the free freight plans out there.
but I also have to wonder how long they will continue at these increased rates.

Something to ask next time you place an order instead of just assuming
the program is still in place. Either that or watch your shirt prices
rise to cover the costs.Since most suppliers have to truck the shirts to
their warehouses also...

Good luck to all.

Remember that many suppliers add extra costs into shipping such as order fees, etc. I can order 2 doz hats from Eugene from Pacific and pay $5.50 shipping and the same order from Portland (same shipping zone) from Thinc and shipping would be around $12 cause of their extra charges.

What's with the high shipping charges? I ordered 3 shirts and it was $11.95 for shipping UPS ground. I know gas prices are going up and UPS wants surcharges to keep making a profit but this is killing me. I remember 3 years ago it was around $5 or $6 shipping for the same item. I wish I owned a shipping or gas company instead of an embroidery machine.
