The proper way to adjust the presser foot is to go into "Maintenance"---"Head
timing"--- and click on " Bottom Center." This will put the presser foot cam in
the right position so that the ratchet wheel can then move the presser foot up
and down to the desired height.

For the Non-XT Amaya's, the rule of thumb was to run the presser foot all the
way up and come back down 1 or 2 clicks when doing caps. This would only apply
"IF" you are using the raised needle plate which is "NOT" used on the newer XT
models. If you are not using the raised needle plate while doing caps, you
would then treat the presser foot the same as if you were sewing flats.....

For the XT models, the rule of thumb is to run the presser foot all the way
down and then go back up 1 or 2 clicks for flats or caps....
