We probably have all had the same type of customer...no matter what he
orders-he'll bust us and nickle and dime us to death and then the stuff is
not used-staff hates it, customers don't want it...and who gets blamed?
US......of course.
Sometimes you can grin and bear it...and maybe get the guy to order what he
SHOULD have later and make a good profit. Sometimes the guy just is a jerk,
and you hang up on HIM! Been there, done that...and I don't regret even once
telling a customer in some manner to go elsewhere for his order. I sleep
well at nite-and I know that jerk isn't going to refer me to anyone
else...so why bother lose sleep over it? Rep from a tire wholesaler walked
in yesterday to talk about ordering pens-he drove 40 miles to see me-because
HE got a pen from a limosine service that I do all kinds of work for-and the
pen is good, and the limo owner recommended me. He bought tires from the
guy, gave him a pen advertising the limo, and the guy liked the pen and
asked where he got it!
That's the type of customer you like having....
so he's going to supply the limo for my son's wedding next month, halfway
across the state....and I"m engraving champagne bottles and embroidering
jackets for him to pay for it! Such a deal!
