Sometimes its not always urban legend!
Vermont just had major problems last year in the 'tree' industry with  
imported (from other states) shrubs that had a devastating disease  
that spread to other plants-thank you 'box store' garden shops!
And if you ever heard about a 'crowd' infestation of poison ivy from  
a bonfire...its for real, happened here in NH couple of  years ago.  
Group cleared off a park or playground, made a bonfire and burnt  
everything-didn't realize poison ivy is NOT killed by fire-the 'sap'  
spread through the smoke and got the whole crowd!
So I didn't think the termite story was bogus...figured it isn't much  
different than other things up here!
