Dorothy,
I had trouble with the acti-feed getting stuck on MT 2 and not getting good
stitch-outs. I tightened my bobbin case tension more than it should be and
it started working fine. There are others on the list who have had the same
problem. I only know of one person who solved it the same way I did.
I can't contribute anything about the rest of your questions, but I am
surprised to hear about the sewing field on the 43x50cm hoop. Maybe 43 cm is
as far back as the hoop bracket can move. If that's the case, I wonder what
the application is for the longer hoop.
You could call Melco Mart - 800-877-4272. Maybe they can explain.
Good luck.

Subject: [amayausers] New OS issues & hoop idea
Hi all,
I've been working with the new OS (v.7.00.018). I have a few issues that
I'd
like some help with:
1. The acti-feed system seems to be working most of the time but every once
in awhile it gets stuck on 1 or 2 and of course ends up causing a thread
break. I usually end up switching to standard with a decent setting but I'd
like
to figure out why. It affects different needles. I've made no adjustments
to
the bobbin (I also installed the new rollers). Any ideas?
2. I can no longer press the DS button that used to allow me to move
different objects around (lettering, design). This used to be really handy
if I just
needed to move the lettering down a bit closer to the design. [I don't have
any version of DS but I could still do some manipulating through the OS.]
3. Is there a way to change the background color in the control panel view?
I used to be able to change it to a thread color but I can't seem to
anymore.
This was really handy for white thread designs. [I think this disappeared
at
the previous upgrade.]
4. I used to be able to press and hold the green button and as long as I
held the button, the machine would step through the stitches (like when just
beginning a new color to set the thread). [I think this also disappeared at
the
previous upgrade.]
5. I am also having to attempt to load a design more than once as it
frequently hangs up in sending the design to the machine (Design download
denied).
This used to happen only rarely and is now happening quite often. Any
ideas?
Now for a hoop idea.
I purchased the 43cm by 50cm hoop thinking the sewing field would be longer
but only to find it has the same sewing field as the 43cm by 43cm. Anyway,
rather than return it and buy another 43 x 43 hoop (not worth the shipping
and I
really want the bigger sewing field), I have an idea. Does anyone have a
broken wooden emt/amaya hoop they no longer want? I'd like to see if I
could
attach a second set of mounting brackets in the reverse direction so I could
just turn the garment around and sew the bottom (now the top) without
re-hooping. Do you think it would work? Right now the mounting brackets are
not
centered but set towards the top of the hoop, so if I place the second set
in the
opposite direction but at the same distance I could expand my sewing field
with only having to reverse the garment on the machine. What do you think?
That's it for now. Thanks for any and all advice.
