Guys and Gals,
This is the very first time that I had heard of the problem that Jim
encountered in the lubrication process. I can not give anyone a definite
answer as to why the #16 needle bar on Jim's Amaya did not raise back to
it's normal position before the color change started or for that matter why
it allowed it to move at all. I am not sure that saying there is a bug in
the software is exactly what we should be saying at this point. the software
may be just fine and Jim just experienced a glitch. Murphy's Law loves
glitches....they only happen on Friday nights, holidays or just as Melco
turns out the lights......I think we are all wired the same and it surely
can be frustrating.
Jim was a "bit" frustrated but he hung in there and was a good student
during the push, pull, tug, tweak and cuss process of getting the Amaya back
in sync. I think Jim may have even learned a thing or two....especially
where the Z axis shaft is --I think he now has calluses on both hands from
turning it by hand... ;-))...But he did have a serious--very serious problem
and had he not been a good student, a tech call would surely have been in
order for this one......good job Jim.......I know he was sweating, I could
feel it through the phone.... ;-)).
Keep us informed with what Melco says about the software..
The adventurous type, like myself, would just go back into the maintenance
menu and hit the 100,000,000 go button and try it again to see if it was
just a glitch.....come'on Jim --what say--want'ta go thru that again?? ;-))
