the phone with me and it seems we're back in business!!  YAY!!!   *****

Seriously, I wanted others to know that the problem appears to be solved -
except for the fact that the software release is still buggy.  So a warning
to anyone who has this exact version of Amaya OS (v5.07.043)...DON'T do the
100,000,000 maintenance without getting a fix to the software - otherwise
your Amaya has a serious chance of getting damaged!

You can be sure I'll be talking to Melco first thing Tuesday.

I have encountered a serious problem with the new version of Amaya OS
software (v5.07.043) that I was just sent which has now rendered my Amaya
inoperable!  After installing this new version, it had me perform a couple
of new maintenance procedures which I did not have in my previous version of
Amaya OS (which was v4.01.019).  One of them is the 100,000,000 stitch
maintenance routine, which has me apply grease to the cam & cam follower.
The problem with the maintenance procedure is that it lowers the needle bar
on needle #16 all the way down for the maintenance to be performed, then
once you're finished, IT DOESN'T RAISE IT BACK UP!!  Then it attempts to
MOVE the needle case left, however, the needle bar is STILL IN THE DOWN
POSITION, causing the needle case to jamb between needle positions 15 and
16.  (I had to break the needle that was in #16 to get the needle out of the
needle plate!)  At this point, the Amaya machine does not respond to any
commands because of the incorrect jammed position.
 
No matter what I do, I can't get the Amaya to do anything, and I can't seem
to get the needle bar raised!!  H-E-L-P!!!!
 
Anyone know what I can do??  I'm out of business until I get this fixed...As
you might imagine, I'm angry & frustrated...can't you tell?!?  Of course
it's a holiday weekend and I've got orders to do...and I can't get a hold of
Melco's service dept...natch.  =8~D)
