Roland,

Do a Google Search on Mac or PC user percentage. I think you will find it is more like 10 to 15% of the sales are Mac based by more than one research and or poll. As far as so many schools running Mac's, the reason is because Apple had a program that just about gave them away to schools for years and used it as a tax write off. Most of the school systems in Colorado, (not sure about other states) have since changed over to PC based. Those old Apple computers became obsolete and schools teach what the kids are likely to see the most of in the real world.

As far as dropping files or loosing files, and PC's being typical of loosing stuff, what are you referring to? I have used PC's for ever, and worked on and repaired them for ever. The only time I have ever seen loss of data is hardware failure, operator malfunction, or software malfunction. Even Mac's are prone to all 3 of those problems as they are still made by man and operated by man. If your saying the Hard Drive in a MAC is more reliable, how so, they use the same ones from the same manufactures! If you are having PC's worked on multiple times a year for hardware failures, then you are buying the wrong PC's.

I think it now is getting down to what a person has gotten used to and likes. Kinda like some people like Ford, others GM.

Macs have close to 50% of the market....not 5%. Virtually 75% or more of
GRAPHIC shops run Macs, not PC's....most schools run macs for teaching....
it's typical of PC stuff-they lose files and info, so they keep dropping
zeroe's......LOL
and if Mac's weren't such a big threat, why did microsoft buy 15% of Mac?

and why did Microsoft have to imitate the desktop format that Mac controls?
Even our typical keystrokes (command W for window open or close, for
example) are ONLY on Mac, not PC....because Mac 'owns' this stuff!
I'm on my 10th? mac run 5 in the shop now-have retired or traded out several
others-and in 15 years only had ONE develop a problem with the harddrive-and
that was recovered! yet we've had to have techs work on our PC's (sales
computer in retail store, 2 pc's here for engraver and embroidery) multiple
times a year......
