[amayausers] Re: Machine Settings

Herb,

The presser foot is adjusted differently on the newer machine for caps than on the older machine. For the newer machine, you want it down and about 2 to 4 clicks from the bottom. If you were adjusting it up all the way as for the older machine, this will cause problems.

Also, there are some new RSA files and a CSA file for the Auto Thread feed stuff. The work on the Auto Actifeed feature is still in progress and changes and improvements are still being made regularly. The newer files will work better as well. If you would be interested in trying the new files, I can send them to you. They have not been officially released yet, but if you would be willing to try them out I would be willing to send them to you.

Subject: [amayausers] Machine Settings

Hey Group,
Having a bit of an issue here. New machine arrived Saturday, along with the thread feed roller upgrade for the older machine. Upgraded OS software as well. Sewed some flats with both machines using the auto material thickness, the only issue was the new machine missed trimming the bobbin about 30% of the time. Then I started sewing caps on the new machine, again using the auto MT feature and began to install the roller upgrade on the old girl. The caps sewed horrible, thread breaks and fraying thread. The OS was showing the thread feed varying from 2 to 6 as it sewed. Turned this feature off and ran at MT of 10 but results were not much better. Still breaking thread.
I mention the roller upgrade because I found the note that says the new rollers may require a 1-2 point higher MT to work. The question is, would the higher MT also apply to the new machine as well? Are my issues because I am running the new machine at settings that worked with the old machine/roller combination. Any thoughts.
