[amayausers] Re: Letters Mushing

Jim,

This can be a common problem and complaint depending on the size of the
design. What is the vertical height of the design, including the lettering?
What size is the lettering and what font is it? How much pull comp has been
added to the lettering? What underlay is being used in the lettering? Is
this a keyboard font or a custom digitized font on the lettering? What
software are you using in Design Shop?

With the keyboard lettering, as well as custom digitized lettering, extra
color breaks can be added between the individual letters. For example take
the name " AMAYA ", if centered, the middle "A" would be right in the
middle of the center seam. If a color break were to be entered on both sides
of this letter than you could now use the" "Settings by Color" tools found
under the "Settings" tab while working in Amaya OS. This niffty tool allows
you to select the specific color, the "A" now being listed as it's own color
and change the speed, material thickness, column width etc, of the machine
just for this one letter.

Now, the arched lettering and the vertical height will always cause problems
if it is too high/tall. The best bet is to not have any cap design over 2"
in height for good results, maybe up to 2.25". I sometimes push my luck and
sew designs even up to 2.7" (depends on the design) but the taller the
design the more the design will suffer, especially lettering that has been
arched across the top of the sewing area......
