John,
There are several different brands.  I use Fray Block.  I get it at a JoAnne 
Fabric store.  It's a liquid that comes in a tube that you put on stitches 
to prevent them from fraying.   It's kind of like glue, but it doesn't show 
after it dries and you can't feel it.  I always keep it close by, right next 
to my multi colored fine point marker set.  Not that I ever screw something 
up!    Don't ever use Fray Block after you touch up with a marker, the ink 
will bleed.
