[amayausers] Re: Hoop-tech clamping frames

Hi, Wendy-
I think just working with the clamp is the best teacher- I have banged
knuckles and fingers on the clamp lever quite a few times - it's very
powerful! and I continue to fuss with the height adjustments in the back. A
9mm wrench will work if you do not have an 11/32. Overall, I like the fabric
to get right down to the needle plate, and check your presser foot height to
be nice and low to your item being sewn. Less bouncing.

Open the clamp for loading and unloading items ONLY. That pesky lever is the
most likely piece to get tangled up in your thread catcher, per my earlier
posts. Do make sure the clamp is open before you try to change windows,
however. You'll only make that mistake a couple of times. ;-) No big deal,
but that spring does have quite a grip.

You probably rec'd only the silver top frame for each size of the TCS1
windows, and I have decided I like these best on the TCS2 as well. They grip
the fabric better and result in it being closer to the needle plate.

I am finding that I LOVE my TCS2 - larger sewing area and longer reach. But
the TCS1 is great for smaller items - I did my first sleeve-cuff monogram
today with the TCS1 and it was a piece of cake. And I've been sewing duffles
all afternoon with the TCS2 at 1200spm with nary a snag and quick setup.

I checked my offsets on the TCS1 today, and found that the adjustments I had
made were no longer necessary in the X-direction. Don't know- perhaps it's
worth checking centers once in a while.

Ramble ramble- it is getting Late! Best wishes for a very successful week!
