I've never done one of these but have you tried heating the hat a bit (the
area to be embroidered) and then use a fast frame? How large a design? Is it
possible to put the design on a cloth strip that goes around the base?
Hopefully someone with experience will help out.

Hi all,
I'm new to the emb biz and have to sew some canvas Outback hats by Port.
It appears to me that you cannot hoop one of these stiff brimmed hats on
a WACF (which is the only type I have right now) What would you suggest
I hoop these on? Thanks
