[amayausers] Re: Help Times 2

I liken the beginners problems to that of a surgeon. When we receive our
Amaya for the first time, it's like getting the surgery tools. We try to
make them work by following the written directions and the advise of
others. Sometimes the patient lives, but not because we are such good
surgeons or because the tools are so great. We went to training in March.
Now I feel like I've at least had a crash course in med school. Then comes
working on the cadavers until it's safe to work on a living, breathing
soul. There are so many variables taught at Amaya School that you can't
just figure out on your own. Sure, we can get the patient stitched up and
out the door, but is it going to last=3F

That said, the help on this list has saved me and continues to save me. You
folks are just indispensable. I think the training course is indispensable,
too. Don't wait too long to go. It is well worth the expense of the week of
meals, hotel, transportation and time off the "real" world. I would prefer
the directions that come with the Amaya be clear, accurate and pertinent,
but they are left intentionally vague, to require class attendance.

An example of a very helpful thing I learned at training: Print out all
the alphabet fonts and put them in a notebook. They come with helpful
instructions, like what sizes this font works in the best and what fabrics
it works with. I wouldn't have known that cap designs need to be digitized
from the center out and most of the Dakota Designs do not fit that
criteria. Just little things, but they sure do make a difference.

We just got our machine about a month ago too and are having the EXACT
problem. We have tried the troubleshooting steps in the book with no
improvements
what so ever. Things are starting to back up on us as well.
