My COMPUTER told me I don't have enough memory...that's the error window
that comes up repeatedly when running both Design Shop and Amaya at the same
time. Never got this message once until after the upgrade. Nothing I made
up...and my son (5 years in college for computer tech) checked it and says
the same thing. If we wait LONG enough, eventually it will read from the
disk...but nothing else can be done while you wait. Transfering the data
immediately to the hard drive instead of reading off the disk works. The
transfer is from email files I get that have to be taken over to
embroider-hence the second computer involved. So YES, I AM moving files from
one computer to a second. Doesn't matter if the first computer is actually
creating the files or taking them from email-it is still a second computer.
And it doesn't matter if it is a disk brought in from a customer, a CD of
clipart, or a zip disk from my internet mac....same thing, same error
message. With both programs running, the ram is maxed out.

Roland,

I do not know who told you that not enough RAM is causing problem with
reading from a floppy, information has got to be mis-interpreted and crossed
here some how. Perhaps file size may have to do with it, but not he ability
to read the information on the floppy disk by the drive, plus Lisa is
talking about 2 computers and moving disks from one to the other. You run
everything in one computer, (unless you have finally got the other up and
running). You are comparing apples to oranges and confusing what Lisa is
asking.

I found that since the upgrade on Design Shop and Amaya programs-my
computer
no longer has enough ram to operate both correctly. Just a detail that was
not explained in the upgrade....so suddenly we couldn't access the disks
either! So we do have to dump the file onto the harddrive and work from
that.
