[amayausers] Extended metal thread tube question

Some time ago, I ordered the extended metal thread tubes to use with
certain taller thread cones. Now that the time has come to use them (on a
deadline, of course), I can't figure out how to replace the original tubes.
Maybe I'm missing the instructions somewhere, but can't get my brain around
the problem. Can anyone help by explaining the steps to replace these tubes?
Thank you,
Connie
