[amayausers] Re: Embroidering on Silk

The only suggestion I can give you is not to hoop the satin, hoop the
backing and then pin the satin or if you digitize the design with a running
stitch first around the edge of the design to tack it down you don't need
pins.

If you hoop it you can mark it.

I've heard of people hooping it, but I think the chances are too great that
you may damage the goods.

Charge extra for the work... At least double the amount you normally
charge...

Subject: [amayausers] Embroidering on Silk

Does anyone have any suggestions of where to start when embroidering on
silk? MT, backing, topping, etc. I will be making a trip to the fabric
store tomorrow of sample material. Also, this is on a customer supplied
shirt? Any suggestions for that? I haven't agreed to do it yet.
