Dear Mike,
I had to do 75 of these exact hats. They were a cinch. I hooped the
sweatband in a WACF. The big brim is on the outside of the closure
device. Instead of the brim going in the teeth it is outside. It's a
little hard to explain but it worked great.

Subject: [amayausers] Aussie hat hooping
Hello everyone,
More hooping challenges....
I've been trying to hoop a Port Authority Outback Hat made of canvas
with a pretty thick brim.
Is a 12mm hoop the way to do it? Its like wrestling an alligator. The
brim bearly bends into the hoop and the seams of the hat are pretty
knarly on the bottom.
Thanks,
Mike
