John,
I would have to see the design(s) to make a determination on all of the
problems. What would be best is for you to contact your distributor and
address the issues with him.
Some observations from what information is here that might help with some
of the issues are as follows.
Small Text: Generally when we here problems of text not working right on the
Amaya compared to other machines it has to do with Column Widths. The Amaya
generally has smaller column widths when compared to older machines. The
Amaya is very precise, older machines have a tendency to overshoot the
actuall width thus giving the design a fuller and wider look. In the AmayaOS
software there is a setting that can be used to adjust for this so the look
is the same to other machines in your shop. Go to Settings/Settings TAB and
use the Column Width adjustments to compensate for this.
Work Quality: I generally hear the opposite of this statement by you? Again
I would have to have designs and compare. Perhaps there are adjustments
needed to your machine? Again, this should be addressed with your
distributor and the machine checked for proper belt tensions, setup etc.
Network Utility: I believe you are referring to the ENS or Embroidery
Network Software that is used for the older Melco Machines. The ENS software
is not made to network or be used with the Amaya Machines, and should not be
run or used on an Amaya Network as this software can interfere with the
AmayaOS. If you have other Melco machines that use Ethernet (EMT10), the
connection and networking should be done seperatly, not on the same network
card or in the same PC. The latest release of the AmayaOS software, version
5.07.023 has statistics for thread break etc. in it. If this is the issue
you have and need, it is available by contacting your distributor.
Sincerely,
Jeff Banks

Have you upgraded your AMAYA OS software? Some of the early versions
had
issues that have been fixed now.

Subject: [amayausers] Amaya problems - help!!
Hi All
We were one of the first companies to get the Amaya in the UK and we are
still experiencing problems. I was wondering if anyone could help.
a) we made a design for the EMT10T which worked perfectly (300,000
stitch) with no thread breaks - the fills were soft and silky. The same
design on the Amaya is terrible, the fill quality is horrendous and
whatever we do to the design, we cannot duplicate it on the Amaya - the
fill quality is nowhere as good as the old machine.
b) Small text - we cannot make our text look anywhere near as good
as competitors with standard embroidery machines such as Tajima, etc -
we have full digitizing in house but still cannot make a good result.
Again worked fine on the EMT10T.
c) Generally although the Amaya is technically more advanced, the
work quality is substandard to the EMT10T.
d) The network utility for checking thread breaks and stats does
not work on the Amaya.
If anybody can help us in the right direction that would be grate - this
is really the last chance before we didtch the Amaya and move back to
other models or makes.
Best wishes
John Scullard
