You need a monitor with the computer to use the Amaya software. You will be 
able to operate certain functions of the machine from there also.

Yes, DST, EXP, CND, OFM and many other file formats are compatible for use.

The "buttons" on the machine is the machine keypad or "Interface Assembly" . 
This is much more than a fine tuning device. It basically controls all the 
movements and functions of the machine itself. It also has the Emergency Stop 
button on it. You cannot start the machine running from the computer, the start 
button must be pressed on the keypad.
