[altroots] Re: URGENT PETITION TO SAVE FUNDING FOR NPR, PBS, AND ARTS PROGRAMS

Hate to break it to you all, but this is a hoax.  The real crisis with PBS
and the CPB was averted last week, and the proposed $100 million funding cut
was restored, through the combined efforts of Common Cause, Move On, People
for the American Way and the hundreds of thousands of individuals those
groups marshalled.  This ³petition² has been floating around the web for
more than 10 years, and like any other email petition, is bogus.  The only
kind of online petition that is for real is one found on a web site.
