[altroots] ROOTS Annual Meeting Update

As promised in an earlier communique, following is a listing
of the Open Space proposals I have recieved to date.

Remember that if you are coming to the Annual Meeting, you are
encouraged to propose your Open Space idea(s), including discussions,
workshops, gatherings or performances (performances have a twenty-minute
max. time alotment) as soon as you can, so that we can let people
know what exciting things will be going on...

Open Space gatherings that have been proposed to date:

HOW TO LEAD COMMUNITY SINGING
convened by Elise Witt

Our music has been stolen from us and is being sold back to us.
Our
society consumes more music than it makes. We need to sing more!
Singing
in community is a great way to coalesce energy, organize for
community
causes, or just have a great time. You don't need to be a "great"
singer
to inspire others to sing. Elise will share techniques of breaking
songs
down into easily learnable parts and teach of a few of her favorites.
Then
she'll turn it over to participants to share songs and make a
joyful noise.

I would like to convene an open space on "Afghanistan--turbans,
burqas, and terrorists". I need to do it early in the week as
we have to go to West bygod Virginia for a show on the weekend.
It doesn't have to be long and can be a sit on the porch and
chat over coffee or tea type thing--if you're scheduling.
