1) Funding Arts Network Announces Grant Opportunity for
Miami Arts Groups
Deadline: December 8, 2005
The Funding Arts Network ( http://fundingartsnetwork.org/ ),
originally Fifty over Fifty, a member-supported organiza-
tion devoted to enhancing the cultural environment of the
Miami-Dade, Florida, community, has announced that applications are now
available for its 2006-07 grant cycle. FAN
is celebrating its 10th anniversary of providing grants to
visual and performing arts groups, and to date has awarded
more than $1.6 million to local arts organizations.
Local nonprofit organizations whose primary mission is
presenting visual or performing arts to the public may
request funding for programs to be presented in Miami-Dade
between July 1, 2006, and June 30, 2007.
FAN offers grants ranging from $2,500 to $50,000 for dance,
music, visual arts, and theater programs and exhibits.
Grant awards will be announced at FAN's May 2006 Membership
Luncheon.
FAN will also present a Workshop and Orientation for
potential grantees this fall. On October 6, 2005, prospective applicants are
invited to attend an information
session at the Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Department
( http://www.tropiculturemiami.com/ ), from 10:00 a.m.
until noon. FAN's grant guidelines and award process will
be explained by its Vice President for Grants, Barbara
Garrett; Deborah Margol, Deputy Director, Miami-Dade
Cultural Affairs Department, will review government funding
available to arts groups; and Laura Bruney, Executive
Director, Arts &Business Council, will describe other
support and services available to arts organizations.
Organizations must RSVP by fax to (305) 661-8339 no later
than one week prior to the workshop if they wish to send a
representative.
