[altroots] GCA at Work

Your tax dollars at work.

Can anyone tell me why the Georgia Arts calendar on the GCA website only
lists events in Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, PA and Philadelphia, PA for this
summer? Not anything else. Zero, nada.

When I asked to have our events listed I was told that they were only
posting events with statewide participation. I did not ask which state.

I am stunned that nothing is considered statewide except out of state stuff.
They do not even list their own teacher training institute in June. They do
not list anything here. They do not list NBAF for example or the recent Jazz
festival or the upcoming Film festival.... they do not list anything they
funded as being of statewide impact. It is a curious situation indeed.

If I were visiting the state of GA, I would assume nothing is happening here
-- and not realize that in fact we are action-packed but we are represented
by a state arts council that is clueless about what is going on in the state
-- and apparently unable to promote events and activities it funds.
