Subject: NAMAC members respond to Katrina

Two NAMAC members, Southern Arts Federation and AIVF, are disseminating
disaster relief information, and we wanted to spread the information
throughout our network. NAMAC has not heard back from NOVAC or
Zeitgeist, our two members in the area. Please distribute the
information below far and wide to increase the chances of it getting
into the right hands. Thanks.

FROM AIVF
AIVF extends sympathy to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The disaster
has affected too many lives to count, including those of filmmakers and
filmmaking students.

Equipment Emporium Inc, a company in the Los Angeles area that
specializes in location audio gear for video & filmmaking, has offered
to assist filmmakers who have suffered equipment loss or damage due to
Hurricane Katrina.

Many of the manufacturers are willing to support this endeavor to some
extent or another...assisting with repair or replacement, at fees
ranging from free to specially discounted. Each manufacturer will
determine specifics, and probably on a case-by-case basis, so we cannot
generalize on exactly how much assistance they will provide; but we are
sure that they will attempt to do as much as they can.

Equipment Emporium can help with paperwork, such as insurance quotes,
replacement copies of our invoices, replacement values, and working
with some of the manufacturers to arrange repair, replacement, or
discounted services.

universities offering space for those that are unable to continue their
