NOMINATIONS FOR SRDI RURAL AWARD & GRANTS FOR DOCUMENTATION
Do you know someone who is passionate about and has made a
significant difference in the rural South? In honor of its tenth
anniversary, The Southern Rural Development Initiative (SRDI) plans
to recognize ten such exceptional people. Nominations are due by
September 24th. The nomination form is available at
<http://www.srdi.org/newsite/TopTenNominationForm.htm>http://www.srdi.org/newsite/TopTenNominationForm.htm.
SRDI is also looking for teams of youth to tell the stories of these
honorees through a variety of artistic mediums, including posters,
paintings, videos, storytelling or other visual or performance arts.
Small grants will be awarded to help the teams create these original
works of art. The art will be previewed on SRDI's web site,
presented at SRDI's May 2006 anniversary celebration in Atlanta and
incorporated into a program book. Applications from teams of youth
artists are due by September 10th. An application form is available
