Your instincts are actually quite good. Late last spring I spent a lot
of my spare time over several weeks researching this issue and related
topics because I *was* concerned. It was part of an extended
conversation with someone whose blog I had read (sometimes I go googling
for a good bar fight...). You can see most of the results of my research at

and

although the blogger I was having the conversation with seems to have
dropped some of my comments regarding the landmark Supreme Court case in
the late 19th century that established corporations as persons.

Anyway, that's when I came to the conclusion that Bush was making some
questionable calls in his interpretation of our laws, but that the
system was basically doing it's job of challenging him.

No, since my sister is having her own gathering this Thursday, we had an
early Thanksgiving at the start of this month when my Mom and we three
kids were all together in Phoenix getting my Mom settled in. I'll be
spending this Thursday all alone here in Boulder, probably with a Marie
Callender's frozen Turkey dinner (they're actually quite good). On the
plus side I won't miss the traveling during this period.

Hope you and yours have a good Thanksgiving!
